Before School Turama Teamwork

This has been a popular before school activity this week for this group.  It took a lot of teamwork for these girls to construct their tower and they were determined to keep building it higher and higher. Learning together is always more fun than learning alone!

Pupil of the week

Here are Week 6's pupils of the week:

Shayla - Your confident, active, creative and literate lights have been shining brightly! You entered a local short story writing competition and the judges thought your story was the best. Unfortunately you exceeded the word limit so they couldn’t give you first prize but you are the winner in our eyes!

Brecon - for the improved effort you have been putting into your reading and writing. We have noticed Brecon! Keep your active and literate lights shining brightly!

Amanda - your writing perspective is so interesting and exciting. You really have your literate light on!

Ada - you are always showing the school values - respect responsibility and pride. You are kind and fair, and work and learn so well with everyone in class, and go to great efforts to include all of the students in Turama.

Writing

This week we have been writing recounts about interesting times for us in our life - times we are brave, a favourite time swimming, and to finish a time with whanau and family.

Here is Amanda's time she was brave:

Fear creeps all around you. You're knobbling your knees together. You're trying to find  the thing you need for a very long time. You're shaking until you get out. When you get out sometimes you feel like something is following you. That is what it feels like in the haunted closet in my bedroom.

Read Matilda's and Archie's writing on our writing page.
