Volleyball

After four lessons with our specialised volleyball coaches the Turama kids have shown a lot of improvement in their volleyball skills, with a few obvious naturals amongst them. They learnt how to rotate on the court, how to make a forearm pass, a set, a serve and finally today they learnt how to spike the ball. Then they put all of these skills into a game situation.

Making Connections - Electricity & Circuits

We are at the GET IT stage of our inquiry with students finding out as much as they can about electricity.

Before School Activities

It's been fabulous seeing our students playing cooperative games or doing cooperative drawing before school each day this week! What a lovely way to start the day.

Term 3 Week 1 Happenings

What a fantastic first week back we have had in Turama! It's been all action and with the beautiful sunny weather we have been able to take our learning outside as well. We have had some super PE lessons as well as one group heading outdoors to learn all about angles. We have also kicked off our miniature unit in art which we are all quite excited about. Well done to the Turama students for leading an awesome learning celebration this afternoon. We are so proud of you all!

Pupil of the Week

Saffron - you walk and talk our school values every day. You treat everyone with respect, you show responsibility for your learning and belongings and you take great pride in yourself.

Harry - you have made an awesome start to the term. It’s great to see you showing that you are responsible for yourself, your learning, our learning space! Thanks for your teamwork, keep it up.

Turama Tiki Tour

Please check out our Making Connections Term 2 page link to find our Turama Tiki Tour Video - Joe has put an amazing amount of time into making an amazing movie!

Miniature Houses

Today Kim came in and brought an example of a miniature house. She's going to come in at the start of next term and help everyone to make their own miniature house, shed or tree hut (whatever they want to make). Over the holidays we need to collect a box and lots of different objects that we can use, such as corks, bottle lids, candle stumps, small containers and anything else we can find to recycle. We're really looking forward to making these!

Hockey

On Wednesday we had a hockey session with Karla from No Child Left Inside. We brushed up our hockey skills by practising hitting the ball and controlling it.

Netball

We have two teams from Turama (Year 3/4s) playing in the netball competition at Saxton courts every Wednesday. What an awesome bunch of super keen netballers they are!  Many thanks to the coaches and enthusiastic parent supporters!
