Ripper Rugby

Some of our Year 5 students hit the rugby field for some Rippa Rugby on Tuesday, together with a few of the Ramaroa 5 kids. They had an awesome time, playing many games throughout the day against other schools in the Motueka district. They were: Archie, Finn, Xavier, Theresa, Matilda, Tegan and Amber. Your active lights are shining brightly!

Finn the Giant

Nelson Giants' basketball player, Finn Delaney, has been coming into school on Thursdays to take each class for some basketball skills. Here are a few pics from this week's skills session with Julieanne's kaiako class.

Student of the Week

Here are Turama's Students of the week:

Matilda - you are so actively involved in your learning at present! You are so excited to be into online learning, and are now a leader in Turama with how to use our devices effectively. You are so keen, so happy and so on task!

Xavier - Not only did you read and respond to feedback in your writing book to improve your own writing but you also coached a younger student in how to use openers to make their writing more entertaining. That’s so awesome Xavier!

Junior Cross Country

A few pics from our junior cross country!

Modern Writing

We have had so much fun writing this week about our Pirate Island adventure. It has been so awesome to see students making the most of our flexible learning space, moving furniture about and then working so well in small groups.

Writing is fun in Turama!

Pupil of the week

Here are Turama's students of the week:

Maddy - You have been impressing us with your enthusiasm and positive attitude. Your running has shown so much improvement and the way you’re participating in gymnastics lessons is inspiring!

Nunya - You have really impressed us the last couple of weeks with your attitude towards learning outside the classroom. You are going the extra mile, learning from home, proving that learning happens all the time!

Week 5 Happenings
We have had another busy week with lots happening for the Turama kids.  Ask your child to tell you about our shared writing "Island Adventure" lessons. We will be continuing with these stories next week.

Well done to all the students who represented Upper Moutere at the Motueka Cross Country yesterday: Tegan, Amber, Grace, Ada, Saffron, Archie, Joe, Barney, Camden, Jacob, Brecon and Harry.  You all were very courageous and gave your race your best efforts. A HUGE congratulations to TEGAN who placed 5th and AMBER who placed 9th in the Year 5 and under girls race.  These girls will go onto the Primary Regional Champs at Saxton Field on Monday 29th June.

Now that cross country training has finished, we have moved onto gymnastics. Year 4/5 students will be able to take part in the Motueka Gymnastics Festival happening in Week 10.

Pupil of the Week

Camden - You just keep trucking on! you have such an amazing attitude to everything! you take on GIANT tasks and make them look so easy - even with broken bones!

Juliana - You help keep us sane - you have a way of making things easy, taking on tasks, giving us cards to perk us up and make us feel just as important as all of the students are to Turama.

Grace - your confident and active lights are shining. You just get on with it with a smile on your face. You ask others for help, and having you in Turama makes us all so happy!

Rowan - you are just glowing with confidence. The way you came into student led conferences, knew exactly what you wanted to say and just took charge of your learning with your parents was amazing to watch, and the best part is it is happening in everything you do!
